About Aaron

Aaron Hinni is a Software Craftsman with solid experience building quality commercial software products from the ground up using agile development practices.

Prior to starting Agile Echelon in early 2009, Aaron was co-founder of two other St. Louis area based startups, Appistry and PaylinX Corporation.

Appistry is one of the pioneers of Cloud Computing. Created in 2001, Aaron was part of a small agile team that developed a highly reliable and scalable software-based environment for running applications on commodity grade computers. Besides cranking out tons of unit tests and C++ code while working on the core, Aaron used his pragmatic thinking and love of Ruby to create tools that helped the team become more efficient.

PaylinX, founded in 1996, was a leading provider of high volume, high reliability payment processing software for merchants and was acquired by Cybersource in July of 2000. Aaron was a member of the original development team of the PaylinX Payment Server, and introduced agile development methodologies to the growing team.

Besides his love of creating quality code that communicates, Aaron is a competitive cyclist, loves all that is home theater, and dabbles in wood working.
